General info

  • 95% of your questions are answered on the FAQ page. Please go there before asking.

  • Attending the 17 minute portion of the walkout only will result in NO PUNISHMENT. If any teacher harasses you about it, please contact me and the team will promptly resolve the situation. Teachers are permitted to mark students late but cannot lower your grade in any way for that.

  • Attending the Borough Hall protest will result in NO PUNISHMENT if you bring an absence note. If you do not, you may be marked unexcused absent. If you bring one, like you should when you're sick, absent due to weather conditions, etc., you will not be punished. Writing "Protest at Borough Hall" is acceptable. Again, any harassment from teachers --> contact us.

  • The protest is scheduled to end around 12 or 12:30 but you do not have to return to school. If you want to, you can return to school whenever you want and you will be let in.

HOW TO WALK OUT: At 9:55 preferably, or 10 if you must, just pack your bag and walk out of class. It'll feel unusual but every teacher will know. If someone asks what's going on, tell them about the walkout! Encourage everyone in the class to go! Most teachers agree but don't want to express political views in class which means you should convince your friends. Take your stuff.

Walk to any exit. Once you're outside, we'll let you know what to do.

You are encouraged to take protest signs outside. Please understand that once on public property, you can be videotaped by the press or anyone else, so try not to say/do anything you wouldn't do in front of your grandma. Otherwise your grandma might see you on the evening news and it won't be pretty.

THANK YOU AS ALWAYS! KEEP SHARING AND SPREADING THE WORD!
